This was yet another little girl refashion from Make It and Love It. I had a sweater vest, shirt thing, that my sister Missy passed down to me. It wasn't fitting right anymore so I adjusted it down for MnM. I took in the sides and shortened the bottom. Once that was done I added the ruffle flower. This one was one of the easier re-fashions compared to the skirts. I'm super happy with how this one turned out also. Oh and yes the diva LOVES it.
Another Make It and Love It idea that I had to do was taking an old skirt of mine and making it into a skirt for MnM. If you read my last re-fashion post then you know my issues I have with sewing. This one was pretty easy (even for me) to follow. I had to put in an elastic waist and shorten the length to fit little diva.
It turned out way better than I was expecting! I get nervous still every time I sew so when something turns out it's a happy day on the crazy farm. Pro sewers would for sure see the errors right off the bat but again I was pretty proud of myself. I actually took the skirt out to the man cave (aka C Mac's second home aka the garage) to show him my completed project. C Mac gave me a high five. You know you've done something cool when you get a high five from C Mac. MnM was so excited when I showed her the skirt. She had to wear it to church that next Sunday. Is it lame if I (months later) pat myself on the back?? Again?? LOL
Don't mind the unevenness or how it's leaning to the right.
I promise it looks a lot better in person.
One of my "goals" in life is sewing. I didn't pay attention too well I guess in Junior High and can barely sew a straight line. I'm a big fan of MakeIt and Love It. She is so amazingly talented. I decided after finding her blog that I needed to steal borrow for a long time my Mom in laws machine that she wasn't even using and has barely noticed is missing. I have a folder on my computer that is stuffed with things I am one day in the near future going to get to.
One of the first things I did was take two shirts of mine and make them into a skirt for MnM. It's very beginner and if you look close you can totally tell where I messed up. Since the machine wasn't mine, and I don't know how to sew, I had to look online to figure out how to thread the bobbin and the machine. I know very pathetic but thank you technology! Thanks to my amazing Sis in law C Myree too who walked me through the steps over the phone when I couldn't figure out the video!! I was sure proud of myself when I finished and have loved that MnM asks to wear it. MnM is a bit of a diva when it comes to her clothing so getting a stamp of approval is big actually HUGE.
Hello!! My name is Natalie but you can call me Nat. I am a SAHM to two kiddos. I like thrifting, crafting, and when the mood is right cooking. I have a love of fountain cherry cokes and peanut butter M&M's. This is a look at all the things I love.
